Health & Safety at Work Act  

Please ensure that your clients are aware of their legal obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. Insurers require policyholders to comply with the following in order to issue cover; 

Please ensure that; 

• The policyholder and any other Directors or Partners are aware of the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act
• The policyholder has completed workplace risk assessments
• The policyholder has communicated such risk assessments to employees in writing and that they obtain written acknowledgement.

The Employers Liability Tracing Office (ELTO) 

The ELTO service has been introduced by the insurance industry to make it easier to search for Employers Liability insurance policies using a central database.

Policyholder's Obligation;

The Employers Reference Number (ERN) must be provided at the inception of the policy where requested. 

This is to ensure we provide sufficient information to allow insurers to comply with ELTO obligations.
